Message : Well I finally got the car on the dyno today. I am kinda disappointed, but some interesting results. Check it out:

:

: Best run of the day yielded 333.5 hp and 376.0 ft-lbs.
: Ambient temp of 82', humidity 22%.
: JWT ECU, Dual Pop, B&B downpipes, test pipes, catback, RC 550cc injectors, Unorthodox pulley, CM 3.5 clutch and flywheel, AVCR and AFC.

: Sorry these are kind of hard to see:

: Well I was obviously hoping for more HP but I was pretty shocked to see how high the torque was. I thought most of the Z's ended up with high HP and lower torque numbers. Also my max power came on early at 4500 RPM. As you can see the power was fairly linear (the dip around 5500 rpm was the car running a little rich there, I fixed that and it's a smooth line now). The problem is I can't maintain boost. It peaked at 17.7psi and then dropped steadily to around 13.7psi depending on the run. It doesn't really "spike" it just steadily drops off. I dont think it's the AVCR, I think the stock turbos just can't handle that amount of boost. I upped the solenoid duty cycle repeatedly and it just wouldn't hold. Surprisingly, I am nearly equaling my max power at 6500 rpm when my boost pressure is only ~14psi.

: BTW, run#1 above, as well as 2-5 that I didnt post, were all in 3rd gear, run#6 above was in 4th. So anyway, I made my max power on my first run with the AFC totally zero'd out. However, the A/F ratio was around 13.8, which is dangerously close to being too lean as far as myself and the dyno operator were concerned. (Who said JWT programs were rich?) Anyway, we played around with the AFC and the end result was run#6, where we almost equaled the initial run in terms of power but with a beautiful 12.8 A/F ratio, which is much safer and will allow me to run hard without fear of burning up my pistons. My AFC setting were all over the RPM range, but most of it above 4500 was around +18% richer.

: We had two big fans going but they couldn't even come close to airflow on the highway at the top of 4th gear (143 mph), so I dont know how that could affect the outcome. Intake charge temp ranged from 97' to 117', pretty cool.

: Anyway here are some pics of my car, with the new GTZ front spoiler. Also I painted my windshield cowling, looks damn nice although you can't see it here.

:

: And the "Seedy shot"! (anyone want to PS the background out of this for me?)
:

: I'm kinda pissed at the low numbers, altho I guess they aren't all that low. A friggin' stock Camaro SS (LS1) dyno'd before me and put out 320hp! Ah well my car still looks better =) And I'll beat his ass on the road course!

: Comments are welcome! I guess I need bigger turbos!
